GEORGE AND NORMA STRAIT – 47 YEARS

George Strait always shared how thankful he is for his wife of 47 years, Norma Strait. Like his number one supporter, George couldn’t ask for more. She showered him with support and understanding that helped him navigate through his career with security. And in return, George made sure to give Norma a happy, comfortable life without worrying about gas bills.

According to Country Living, the couple quietly held a church wedding in Pearsall, Mexico, on December 4, 1971. Strait then enlisted in the U.S. Army and was transported to the Scofield barracks in Hawaii, where his new wife joined him. Throughout their relationship, the two have always been transparent and frank with the fans. Their roughest year was then they lost their 13-year-old daughter in an accident. While it did affect them quite hard, the two remained loving and committed to making it work.
