PENÉLOPE CRUZ AND JAVIER BARDEM – 10 YEARS

Born in Madrid, Spain to Eduardo Cruz, a car mechanic, and Encarna Sánchez, a hairdresser, Penélope Cruz studied classical ballet for several years and developed a passion for acting while growing up. She began acting in 1989 in a music video for a Spanish musician. Since then, she gradually moved up in her career and paved her way into Hollywood stardom.

Cruz is married to actor Javier Bardem, with whom she co-starred in Jamón, Jamón, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, and The Counselor. Their chemistry evolved to a great degree from on-screen to off-screen. They started dating in 2007 and tied the knot three years later in a private ceremony in the Bahamas. They have since welcomed a son named Leo Encinas Cruz and a daughter named Luna Encinas Cruz. “Penélope and I, we have to protect the ‘us,'” Bardem expressed when interviewed about their happy marriage.
