His style of hosting and cooking is in direct contrast to Gordon Ramsay’s often uptight and strict manner. To his credit, however, this element of “rowdiness and approachability” has endeared him to audiences all over the world. In fact, back in 2010, he was named by the Food Network as its official “face.” With that in mind, it would arguably come as no surprise to know that Guy’s involvement with food can be traced back to his years in grade school, selling pretzels and washing dishes.
A few years later, after working on a few restaurants, he has had the chance to work on shows like Guy’s Big Bite, Ultimate Recipe Showdown, and Guy Off the Hook. Outside of hosting, Guy is also a prolific restaurateur. Throughout his career, he has opened multiple restaurants and has even partnered with Carnival Cruises to sell some of his famous burgers on-board. As of 2017, the popular chef has 19 restaurants on the cruise ships, including Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse Brewhouse.
