A journey can start with even the simplest reasons. For this celebrity, it began with his mom encouraging him to learn playing the piano. Today, nicknamed “Piano Man” after his first major hit song, Billy Joel has certainly had quite an illustrious career in music. He is considered one of the best-selling music artists of all time and gets credit for being the 3rd best-selling solo artist in the United States. Despite the impressive feat, it doesn’t come as much as a surprise. After all, he did manage to sell 150 million records across the globe.

Throughout his career, he is highly regarded for releasing several songs, including chart-topping tracks like It’s Still Rock and Roll to Me, Tell Her About It, and We Didn’t Start the Fire. Aside from music, his personal love of boating led to him establishing the Long Island Boat Company together with Peter Needham. He has also opened a motorcycle shop in Oyster Bay, currently offering custom-made and retro-inspired bikes and accessories.
