Back in 2002, the rapper was ranked at the number-12 position by Fortune when it came to their Top 40 Entrepreneurs under 40. The magazine also reports that in 2017, he was able to earn $130 million, making him the top earner among entertainers. His rise to fame started right out the get-go, with his debut album No Way Out. Today, the 1997 record has since been certified platinum seven times already. Diddy then followed-up his breakthrough with more successful titles, including 1999’s Forever, 2001’s The Saga Continues…, and 2006’s Press Play.
Of course, the artist’s investment money doesn’t just come from music. Currently, he is the head of his own empire—Combs Enterprises, the umbrella company for his different businesses. Aside from Sean John, he also helped develop the Ciroc brand of vodkas in exchange for 50% of the profits. Ever the businessman, he also has an equity stake in Revolt TV.
