The actress has been in the industry for eight decades. Aside from her sharp wit, she is also given credit for being one of the first women to have had control both in front and behind the camera. With that said, you know she was also one of the first women to have produced a sitcom? The show in question is actually Life With Elizabeth, which Betty also stars in. No wonder Betty was proclaimed honorary Mayor of Hollywood back in 1955!

Other projects that had the honor of having Betty work on them include The Mary Tyler Moore Show and The Golden Girls. These two shows are now included in The Writers Guild of America’s 101 Best-Written TV Series of All Time. Aside from acting, some of her wealth comes from her work as an author. To her name, Betty has since published a total of 7 books. She’s even received a Grammy for “Best Spoken Word Recording” back in 2012.
