He is considered one of the pioneers of the New Hollywood era for a good reason. Aside from being one of the most famous director-producer in the industry, he is also the highest-grossing film director in history. Quite the achievement, considering his humble start as an unpaid intern for Universal Studio’s editing department. Since then, Spielberg has made quite a name for himself in the industry thanks to his work on films like Jaws, the original Jurassic Park movies, the Indiana Jones movies, ET the Extra-Terrestrial, Schindler’s List, and Saving Private Ryan.

Today, he is a proud owner of more than a few awards, including two Oscars. Steven Spielberg might be ultra-rich now, but did you know that he was one of the many investors swindled by Bernie Madoff during the 2009 Madoff Ponzi scheme?
